New features include:

• Completely redesigned home page, featuring
   
  
  • Summary "quad chart" of HRSA grants, HCC sites, HPSAs, and NHSC FTEs
  • Redesigned left-side navigation links
  • "Breadcrumb" navigation line just below the banner
  • "Print this page" capability to format pages for printing
  • Search capability specifically for the HGDW rather than for all of HRSA.  (This is the "Search" at the top of the left-side navigation tree.  The one at the top of the page still searches the entire HRSA website.)
  
  
• Subject-specific detail charts with linked "maps" for each subject in the front-page quad chart
   
  
  • Each detail page is interactive; the chart and "map" can be clicked on to get more detail (similar to http://stateprofiles.hrsa.gov)  
  • Each detail page includes a group of links at the bottom that point back to the quick-access reports, maps, and tools.  (Making these links more apparent is the purpose of the "(more tools…)" link above the charts)
  • Each chart has a simple pop-up HTML description of what it is and what it contains

• Quick reports
   
  
  • Many of the existing formatted reports have been "moved forward" to make them easier to find.  There is no selection or filtering offered.
  • All of the quick reports are available in three formats: HTML for on-screen viewing, PDF for printing and sharing, and CSV for accessibility.
  
  
• Quick maps
   
  
  • Many subjects now have one or more quick access maps available.  These maps allow the user to focus on a specific State (excluding any surrounding States and data)
  • The Table of Contents for the quick maps is simplified.  The list of layers available for each map is fixed- the user can only choose whether to display or hide layers offered, not add layers from a drop down list.
  • The quick maps have the same features and functionality as the main map tool, in terms of zooming, panning, and identifying features.  They have less (no) capability to do things like label features and change symbols.

  • This page collects all of the tools from the HGDW front page and organizes them by category.
