Health Workforce

The Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) programs help America build a health care workforce prepared to improve the public health by expanding access to quality health services and working to achieve health equity. BHW was created in May 2014, by integrating HRSA workforce programs previously housed in two bureaus: Clinician Recruitment and Service and Health Professions.

The HRSA Data Warehouse (HDW) allows users to interact with data in charts, tables/reports, maps, and tools. Visit the Data Sources page for more information about where Health Workforce data is available in the HDW. These data sets include Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) and Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) performance metrics and grants.
